A website’s presence should evolve as the event draws closer, “Keep adding items – event news, speaker updates, changes to the agenda and so on,” says Selene Chin. “Make it obvious that you’ve updated the site and that there are more updates to come. You want people to keep coming back for more.”
Optimising the website or microsite for other devices is an important consideration. Chin advises starting by designing your website for a mobile screen. “Too many event websites are still designed for desktops, but these days it’s unlikely that your audience is accessing your website on a big screen,” she says.
